(Luke 11:33)
“No man, when he has lighted a lamp, puts it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a lampstand, that they who come in may see the light.”
There is a purpose for the light. Its purpose is not so it could be put in a secret place. The purpose of light is to be placed in a location to illuminate and brighten up dark places.
Jesus calls us the light of the world and the salt of the earth. There must be a reason for this. It is to show us in simple terms the purpose for which we exist in this world – to shine our light in the dark places of the earth and of people’s lives.
God didn’t create you to remain in obscurity, hidden away somewhere where you will be of no relevance. You have been giving a light to shine to your world and you are to shine for the world to see.
Where do I shine my light? It is that very place you have found yourself at the moment. You have been positioned and placed there to shine your light. So go ahead and shine it. That is what you were made for – to illuminate and brighten up dark places.
Stay edified.
