Grace is a Complete Message
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live sensibly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
(Titus 2:11-14)
The grace of God brings to you the unreserved and undeserved kindness of God. Whereas you were supposed to be judged for your sins, Christ took your place and paid so that you can be declared free. You were made free so that you can go and serve God in spirit and truth not so you can continue in sin. This is what led to Apostle Paul’s question, “shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?” The answer is “No”. Those who are dead to sin should no longer live in sin. (Romans 6:1-2).
Our key text above shows us that grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts. It’s clear. Grace is against all that is ungodliness (Titus 2:12).
The teachers of the word who tend to uphold the teaching of righteousness by works are averse to the teaching of Grace because they believe the message gives people the license to live lawlessly. This is not true as the Bible teaches clearly what grace truly is. If they have an understanding of what Grace truly is, they will know it is the mind of God fully expressed in Christ. The grace of God is the complete package. There’s no way you can please God by your strength. God has made a way for you to please him and continue pleasing him.
Those who misbehave after hearing the message of Grace didn’t not hear the complete version of it. Grace is not a leverage to misbehave but the power to live right and do right.
