Chemicals in my Brain (the poem)
They say there are chemicals in my body that run full cycle in a month
They say these chemicals are puppeteers sipping to my brain to make me a different person every week.
“The excited one, the energetic one, the mushy one, the sad and angry one”, they say.
But He says there is a Spirit He has put in me, a Spirit that subdues foolishness and conquers selfishness;
A Spirit that eases obedience, not a puppeteer, a Spirit without cycles, a whirlwind of blessings and help.
So, I am the joyful one, the loving one, the polite one, the energetic one, the graceful one, day-in, day-out; week-in, week-out; all month long, limitless!
For I am neither a puppet nor a science experiment, I am a Spirit-controlled being, obedient to my Lover and Lord.
