The Full Package

“I want someone who wants me for me”.  I am sure you have heard that a million times, but here’s a disputable shocker “everyone who wants you, wants you for you, it just depends on the part they focus on or the part you want them to focus on”.

Maybe you want to scream and say “NO! I want someone who wants me for me, does not look at my flaws, and accepts my full package – the flaws and goodness alike”. Well, my dear I have got two news for you. One may be bad and the other good, but I will give them both, you decide which is which.

The first news is “you are not the first to have longed for that, even Jesus is saying the same thing every blessed day”. The other news is that, he doesn’t have flaws for you to blindly accept, he only has ways for you to entirely follow. It starts with a journey of faith and he is saying “I want you to want me for me, accept my full package – blessings, glory, persecution, chastisement, discipline, power and victory.

As Christians, we are tempted most times to choose a few and leave out some especially in their active part. For example, we want the power of God and want to manifest the gift of the spirit, but we do not want to go through the discipline to get it or experience the persecution that comes with it. We tap into all the blessings but we are afraid of all the responsibilities.

Christ is not a turtle to give birth to a child on land and go back to his habitat in water, leaving the child uncared for. God has provided his word, His Spirit and men of faith who have gone before us. There is work to be done, you can’t be idle. He says “come unto meand I will give you rest…” but do you know that there is a rest that causes one to be lazy and that laziness can have several other terrible consequences? That is why that statement didn’t stop there, there is “an easy yoke” and “a light burden” to be carried – responsibilities and discipline. (Matt. 11:28-30).

You know he still wants you to want him for him right? Sometimes, we understand and love the blessings and the discipline that comes with it, but we do not want to experience it in full, mostly because of the discipline and persecution. What are you afraid of, are you as those who have become lovers of themselves? Or have you had your heart smitten with iron? Please get out of that plight. You should, you can, you will. Do you know that the same God who can supply all your needs according to His riches in glory, has also blessed you with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ? Check out Ephesians 1:3-22, blessings, power, eternal life and persecution (2 Timothy 3:12), and discipline are all part of Christ’s full package.

So, next time you think of praying or seeking for someone who wants you for you, know that you are not alone, even Jesus Christ seeks the same. Please make yourself available as such.
