Though many celebrate the birth of Jesus, but his suffering, death and resurrection should even be more celebrated.
Easter shows us the true reason for his birth – the fulfilment of his purpose on earth, without which there can be no Christianity.
Many men are born into this world but only those who accomplished great feats are remembered. Jesus Christ changed the course of history for mankind that’s why his name still stays fresh even after 2000 years. There’s more to life than just being born – this is what Jesus Christ taught us with the life he lived.
John the Baptist testified of him, “behold the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.” (John 1:29) His testimony of Jesus Christ was in relation to the reason he came to the earth. Jesus also testified of himself,
“The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.” (Luke 9:22)
He was a man on a mission. He knew the very reason for his existence and declared it boldly before all.
Easter is not a time to mourn as many have thought but a time to celebrate something great that transpired over 2000 years ago. It is a time to celebrate the fulfilment of purpose.
Are you living in and fulfilling your purpose?
