[Gal 5:22-23] NIV
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
If you find yourself being impatient, do not give an excuse and say that it is my nature. A child of God has been made a partaker of God’s nature, he/she has received the life of God. In the God life is the God nature and the ability to subdue any old nature.
What should dominate your life from henceforth should be the new nature you have received and not your old nature. The Bible encourages us to put away the old man and it’s lusts and put on the new man (Eph 4:20-32, Col 3:5-14). This speaks of us carrying a new consciousness as children of God and making our outward display of character conform to the inward reality we have received in Christ.
Though the temptation to be impatient is daily on the increase because of the advancement in our world, never accept it as your reality because you are a child of God – a carrier of God’s divine nature. Impatience is a reflection of the old man and you are no longer that old man. Never give an excuse for it.
